Slide the speed washer onto the shaft of the Bird Control Solar Panel Clip assembly and adjust the screen as necessary. Tighten the speed washer and install the locking nut hand tight, using the threaded nut to set the correct tension.

Installation guidance
This system is designed to prevent birds from getting under the solar panels, protecting the roof, wiring, and equipment from damage.
To install the wire mesh, you can follow the steps you provided:
- Cut the wire mesh into six-foot lengths and straighten it before getting onto the roof.
- Use a length of 2 X 4 timber to bend up the bottom inch of the mesh to about 30 degrees, creating a “kick-out” that helps to lock the mesh firmly in place.
- On a typical solar panel, use three solar panel pigeon proofing clips on each long edge of the wire mesh and two clips on each short edge. Refer to the attached diagram for more details and an example of a typical installation.
- Secure the wire mesh to the solar panels using the patent-pending clips.
This non-penetrating system is fast and easy to install and can be removed for servicing if needed. It is suitable for use on rooftop solar panel arrays and can handle all levels of bird pressure.
